Zentangle-inspired Art
Joseph stumbled across an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images. Creating art by drawing structured patterns. Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas created the Zentangle® Method. The drawings in this gallery are inspired by the Zentangle Method of pattern drawing.
The Zentangle method of drawing is about:
- Gratitude and Appreciation: Joseph gets comfortable, taking a few deep breaths. He appreciates the beauty of a blank piece of paper. He is thankful for the tools and opportunity to create.
- Corner Dots: no longer a blank piece of paper.
- Border: a light pencil line connecting the dots.
- String: a light pencil line separating the border into sections.
- Tangle: Joseph consciously draws and focuses on each stroke with his pen. He renders a predefined sequence of simple strokes that make up a pattern. Joseph trusts he will know what to do next when the time to do it comes.
- Shade: Joseph transforms his two-dimensional tangles. Using graphite, shading brings contrast and dimension to his art.
- Initial and Sign: Joseph is proud of what he has created.
- Appreciate: Joseph enters a time of reflection and appreciation for his creation.
Joseph’s Treasure Map symbolizes his search for inner harmony and purpose. He invites viewers to join him on a journey of self-exploration.
